Geothermal Drilling Equipment & High-Pressure Air Systems
Configure the drilling rig, high-pressure compressor and DTH tooling for deep geothermal wells in hard-rock formations.
1. The geothermal equipment challenge
Geothermal and deep groundwater wells run 800-1500 m in hard, abrasive formations. The equipment package must keep the rig, high-pressure air and DTH tooling matched as depth and rock conditions change.
For deep DTH sections, the LGZJ family provides 2.5-3.5 MPa with dual-mode switching. For lower-pressure deep-well sections, KSZJ covers 1.7-2.3 MPa and 18-32 m³/min. Confirm the hammer rating, hole plan and well depth before quotation.
2. Rig pairing
Truck-mounted rotary table rigs (TZT/CZC) and deep crawler rigs (KS800/KS1000) pair with LGZJ compressors for geothermal programs; the LGCC crawler-chassis variants follow the rig onto soft ground.
3. Dual-mode in practice
One LGZJ-31/25-35/18 delivers 31 m³/min @ 2.5 MPa or 35 m³/min @ 1.8 MPa at the flick of a switch — the higher flow covers normal drilling, the higher pressure handles deep sections and stuck rods.

Frequently asked questions
What compressor for a 1200 m geothermal well?
An LGZJ-class high-pressure unit (2.5-3.5 MPa) with dual-mode switching — confirm hammer and flow against the well plan with our engineers.
Can crawler compressors work on soft geothermal sites?
Yes — the LGCC crawler-chassis variants follow the rig on soft ground where wheeled units cannot travel.

Open-pit Mining
Hole diameter, bench depth and rock hardness drive the rig choice — here is the selection logic for blast-hole drilling in open-pit mines.
Water Well
The chassis decision drives half the operating cost of a water-well business — pick by terrain, transport distance, well depth and hole diameter.
Quarrying
Quarries need rigs that move, drill fast and keep the air onboard — the integrated DTH line is built for quarry cycles.
Deep Water Well
Deep wells change the air equation — pressure climbs, flow must hold, and the compressor becomes the bottleneck.
Remote Area
Off-grid sites reward equipment that brings its own power, air and parts — diesel-driven rigs and compressors are the remote-site standard.
High-altitude
Above 3000 m, thin air derates engines and compressors — equipment must be configured for altitude, not just delivered.
